For sale: Spring 2008
Prices Expected: Approximately $ 220000
Ferrari F430 Team, a lighter version of the F430 coupe, goes on sale next spring.
The F430 Team, which joins the F430 Coupe and Spyder already on the market, is powered by a 510-hp, 9000 rpm, 4.3-liter V8 that makes almost 30 horses more than the standard F430 engine. Ferrari says that can go from a dead stop to 62 mph in just 3.7 seconds. The engine uses a carbon-fiber intake and a sophisticated candle-ionization time the monitoring system. A paddle-shifted six-speed semi-automatic transmission is standard on the machine.
The Scuderia is a lightweight version of existing F430 coupe, with a few extra grills and vents on the body for cooling, and a couple of strips stressed the body from nose to tail. Ferrari says that it is completely legal in the United States, but the machine is only minimal comfort for the weekend who wants to pilot the fastest version available.
Some of the exotic extra cost on the Scuderia version features include the latest version of F1 Superfast2 software, which reduces the time to exchange up to 60 milliseconds. A new system of traction control incorporates F1-Trac traction control and stability with an e-Diff2 electronically controlled clutch pack differential. Scuderia Ferrari says the version marks the first time all three systems were combined into a single control system black box. Carbon Ceramic brakes are standard equipment.
